Privacy Policy — Plan Your Trip MCP Server

This policy explains how the Plan Your Trip MCP server(the “Service”, at https://mcp.planyourtrip.travel/api/mcp) handles data. The Service is operated by Marc Bellmann (“we”, “us”), the operator of Plan Your Trip (planyourtrip.travel), registered at Erich-Zeigner-Allee 62a, 04229 Leipzig, Germany.

The Service is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) connector that lets AI assistants (such as ChatGPT, Claude and others) look up curated travel destinations and generate a shareable link to a trip in the Plan Your Trip planner. It requires no account and no login, and it does not ask for or intentionally process personal data.

Information we process

• Tool inputs. When an assistant calls a tool, it sends travel parameters — country, region, city and country names, number of days, nights and an optional trip title. These are used only to build the requested trip and are processed transiently and not stored by us. Please do not send personal data in these fields.
• Technical request data. Like any internet service, our hosting provider processes standard request metadata (IP address, User-Agent header, timestamps) to deliver and secure the Service. From the User-Agent we derive a coarse channel label (e.g. the name of the AI client) that is stored inside the generated trip link for aggregate analytics. This label identifies the AI product, not an individual.
• No accounts, no cookies. The Service holds no user accounts and sets no cookies on the MCP endpoint.

How we use it

• To answer the tool call — look up curated travel data and build a trip link.
• To operate, secure and debug the Service (via standard hosting logs).
• To understand, in aggregate, which channels bring travellers to Plan Your Trip. We do not build profiles of individuals.

What we do not do

We do not sell or rent data, do not use it for advertising, do not profile individuals, and do not store the trips or search inputs sent through the tools.

The generated link

Each tool returns a link to planyourtrip.travel. The trip (city names, coordinates, nights, title and the channel label) is encoded directly in the link’s ?seed= parameter — nothing about the trip is stored on our servers to produce it. When you open that link, you enter the Plan Your Trip planner, which is governed by its own privacy policy and cookie settings. Opening the link may trigger the planner’s own analytics, subject to that site’s consent controls.

Service providers

• Vercel — cloud hosting and content delivery for the Service; processes requests and keeps operational logs on our behalf.
• Our own travel APIs (Regions and Cities services on planyourtrip.travel) — receive the place names from a tool call to return curated travel data. They are our own backends.
• The AI assistant you use(e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic) is the client that connects to the Service; your use of it is governed by that provider’s own privacy policy. We do not control what an assistant sends us.

Retention

We do not retain tool inputs or generated trips. Operational logs held by our hosting provider are kept only for a short period for security and debugging, then discarded.

Legal basis & your rights (GDPR)

Where the limited technical data above constitutes personal data under the EU/UK GDPR, we process it on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating and securing the Service. You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection. Because the Service is authless and stores no identifiers, we typically cannot link this data to you; to exercise a right or ask a question, contact us below.

International transfers

The Service is hosted in the EU. Where data is processed outside your region, appropriate safeguards (such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses) apply through our service providers.

Children

The Service is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly process their data.

We may update this policy; the “Last updated” date above reflects the latest version. Material changes will be reflected here.
